This is a striking 30x30” original palette knife painting. Yes, the entire painting was created with a knife! It is a bold and a textured painting depicting abstract wildflowers in rural Minnesota.
MATERIALS
I used acrylic paint, gesso, a heavy gel medium, and a palette knife to create this look. This painting has exquisite texture from the palette knife, and from the many layers of heavy gel. The colors are rich, and the painting is very busy. It adds beautiful energy to a room. It’s happy and full of life!
This painting comes unframed, but it would look nice in natural wood or ornate gold. I sealed the piece with a UV-protective varnish to prevent it from fading, and to add a bit of shimmer. The canvas is premier-professional quality, and the back is a splined finish instead of back-stapled.
I painted the edges in “payne’s grey” (almost black) for a clean and finished appearance so that framing is not necessary. The back has D-rings & wire installed, it has my gallery label, and it is autographed.
