I call this soft beauty “Unity,” because the colors symbolize parental love. After the death of my mom Janet, I remember her spirit as a peachy color. My dad has always been blue in spirit, and I saved purple for last because the order is important. Purple represents my dad’s new love; someone that I love too. This painting unifies all of those souls into one beautiful image.
MATERIALS
I used acrylic paint, gesso, and I painted with my fingers to create this piece. I added a gel medium and an airbrush medium as well. I sealed the piece with a UV-protective varnish to prevent it from fading, and to add slight shine.
The canvas is premier-professional quality, and the back is a splined finish instead of back-stapled. I painted the edges so that framing isn’t necessary. The back has wire installed, it has my gallery label, and it is signed.
