“Glacier” is a painting made of icy blues, and the layers of paint add interest. Made on a 100 degree day in Minnesota, I was dreaming of ice, and intuitively I painted this. I often dream or desire the opposite. It will be winter, and I will yearn for summer. This painting taught me to acknowledge, and celebrate the present.
MATERIALS
I used acrylic paint, gesso, and a palette knife to create this look. There are layers upon layers of paint of different shades of blue.
This painting comes unframed, but I showcased what it could look like in the pictures. I sealed the piece with a UV-protective varnish to prevent it from fading, and to add a matte finish. The canvas is premier-professional quality, and the back is back-stapled.
I painted the edges in “payne’s grey” (almost black) for a clean and finished appearance so that framing is not necessary. The back has D-rings & wire installed, it has my gallery label, and it is autographed.
