“Smokey Valley” was born during the summer of 2025 when the smoke from the Canadian fires invaded Minnesota. I couldn’t hike due to health risks from the smoke, and intuitively this scene came about on canvas.
MATERIALS
I used acrylic paint, gesso, airbrush medium, a palette knife & brush, to complete this painting. I sealed the piece with a UV-protective matte varnish to prevent it from fading, and yellowing.
The canvas is premier-professional quality, and the back is a splined finish instead of back-stapled. The wooden structure was kiln-dried to prevent warping, and you can feel the quality by the weight. I finished the edges so that framing is not necessary, but welcome. The back has an hook installed, it has my gallery label, and it signed.
