This is an abstract painting of a forest in northern Minnesota. It’s called “The Trials Within,” because while on my solo hikes I get inside my head. It sometimes is difficult to stay positive when my feet get wet or hurt, and I’m several miles from comfort. It’s a choice to stay positive or to remain in the present. This painting represents the rollercoaster of emotions that we endure while alone in nature, and the beauty that’s before us.
